JOB LOCATION: Kakamega, Kenya REPORTING TO: IT Manager
We are an international NGO with a strong footprint in Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, and Tanzania: In these countries our 3,000+ strong staff serves over 200,000 smallholding farmers and helps them to grow their way out of hunger and poverty.
We are seeking experienced and talented individual to take up the position of IT Officer in the IT Operations. The IT Officer will be based in Kakamega. The IT Officer will report directly to the IT Manager
Roles for the IT Officer Job
Provide hardware technical support – laptops
Provide software technical support – Windows, and applications
OS maintenance on user computers – periodical checkup on all OAF laptops
Basic IT projects – special projects as needed
Follow and write IT Support Processes – create IT documentation for OAF Kenya
Keep track of problems and repairs – log all tasks performed and provide for check-ins
Training on the following skills – Spiceworks Reporting, backup systems
IT Officer Job Requirements
At least a minimum of a college Diploma certificate or its equivalent in ICT studies, specialization in Computer& basic Network support disciplines is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills is a must have.
Demonstrate understanding of Windows operating systems, and its operations.
Multitasking ability, willing to work long hours during busy seasons.
Integrity, be proactive and with a positive attitude.
Demonstrate analytic thinking with strong attention to detail
Team player, self-motivated and ability to work under minimum supervision.
Fluent in Kiswahili and English Required.
